Who We Are

Anne Willieme, M.F.A.
Creator and Leader
Arte-Verse

Multimedia artist, education designer and art lecturer Anne Willieme is the creator and leader of Arte-Verse, an art platform that offers interactive engagements with art. Willieme is passionate about sharing the many ways art looking and art making can foster enhanced perception, creativity and wellbeing for individuals interested in self-growth.

As a multi-disciplinary artist, Willieme leads her own art studio, ALW Atelier, and has held exhibitions in galleries and public spaces in the U.S. and in Europe in main cities such as Washington D.C., New York City, Brussels, Paris, Frankfurt, and Rome. Her work includes paint, installation, performance, augmented reality and choreography.

In her role as education designer and art lecturer, she has led workshops and programs for thousands and collaborated with leading art, academic, medical institutions such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Columbia University Medical Center, NYU Langone Health, and Massachusetts General Hospital, among many others.

She has also investigated how sensory perception can link divergent domains--such as art, medicine, and science--and be brought together to create dynamic synergies. In this context, Anne Willieme created ArtMed inSight, which uses art to train physicians and medical personnel in perception at leading medical institutions in the U.S. in order to support their visual diagnostic and communication skills.

She has developed a series of proprietary perceptual art-methods, which bring about a more creative and less conditioned way of seeing, leading to transformation and self-growth. Her seminars have been the subject of research by main academic institutions such as Columbia University and NYU Grossman School of Medicine. Results have indeed shown increased reflection; observation; self-awareness; and creative thinking as well as stress reduction for the participants who took her courses.

Willieme writes on art and art and wellness. Her articles have appeared in Spirituality and Health and Alive Magazine. She speaks nationally and internationally on the topic of art, art/medicine, and art and perception.

ArteVerse also collaborates with expert art educators, musicians, dancers, neuroscientists and high-tech pioneers.
